Art is a powerful medium for expression and to encourage people to embrace art to shape our understanding and actions for a sustainable society. Art from the Heart aims to leverage the impact of art & culture to sensitize the youth on urgent environmental and sustainability issues.

As part of the programme, the youth will have a platform to demonstrate their artistic skills to communicate the impact and challenges of the climate crisis. Various art forms such as dance, music, poetry, theatre and visual arts will be explored during regional and national level programs to promote climate action.

Selected participants/institutions will be guided through mentoring workshops and art work-labs with renowned artists. Curated artworks resulting from these work-labs will be showcased at the Climate Jamboree Mega-Conference in January 2020.

Themes

• Ecological Crisis and Climate Action (Understanding various crisis related to food, agriculture, water, waste, biodiversity, land, air, ocean, etc. and exploring meaningful actions to address them)
• Inequality, Socio-economic challenges and Climate Action (Recognising inequalities in access to natural and economic resources like land, forests, employment, coping mechanisms and envisioning sustainable development.)
• Peace and Human Development - (Expressing the values of gender equality, education, communal harmony, dignity and empowerment)
